Program Description

This program aims to help overcome a recognized local and province-wide shortage of health support service workers by providing education, training and job placement opportunities to the untapped labour pool of persons with disabilities who are willing and available to work. We enroll participants with the goal of sustainable placement into in-demand positions to meet the need for skilled workers in this sector.

The program will assist participants to secure Work Experience Placements to start or resume on-the-job training in the health sector. Participants will feel confident in their skills and abilities to successfully retain work upon completion of the work experience.

This program was developed to address the local and province wide shortage of health support service workers. This program offers:

  • Occupational Therapy Assessments to assess skills and abilities to reduce employment barriers
  • Career decision making
  • Tuition Free Education/Training Opportunities
  • Disability related supports
  • Job matching with employers
  • Job Coaching
  • Job Retention
  • and more!

Program Eligibility
  • 15 years of age and older
  • Unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week  
  • Not in full-time education or training  
  • Legally able to work in Canada (Permanent Resident, Refugee Claimant, Protected Refugee, and Canadian Citizen)
  • Must be a resident of Ontario
